Despite the difficult circumstances brought about by the pandemic, the Electric Mobility Roadshow of the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) made stops in thirteen cities and municipalities throughout Germany in 2021. Information on climate-friendly electric mobility suitable for everyday use was shared by the information stand team on location at all the stops. Since 2014, the Electric Mobility Roadshow has visited more than 130 municipalities.

Be it with batteries or with hydrogen and fuel cells – visitors to the information stand were able to find out what contribution electric mobility can provide towards climate protection, air pollution control and reducing noise. Private individuals, businesses and municipalities could learn about funding opportunities for vehicles and charging infrastructure.

The roadshow team handed out the “electric mobility starter kit” (Durchstarterset Elektromobilität) information package to the cities and municipalities visited. Practical recommendations for action for the establishment and further expansion of electric mobility are also available online for all municipalities at www.starterset-elektromobilität.de and www.nakomo.de.

Franziska Greiser, who managed the NOW GmbH project, is thrilled about the successful tour of Germany in 2021: “We are experiencing a strong increase in interest in the topic of electric mobility. We can answer many questions on the spot: no matter whether it’s the question of the right type of charging plug or the overall eco-balance of e-vehicles. Everywhere in Germany, municipalities and the people who live there are becoming increasingly electric mobility aware and ready.”

The Electric Mobility Roadshow is now taking a winter break. A continuation is planned for 2022. Interested cities and municipalities can contact Greenteam Kommunikation, or Rocco Ruf at NOW GmbH, , with specific suggestions for dates.
