The Federal Commissioner for the Interests of Persons with Disabilities has an Arbitration Service in accordance with § 16 BGG (German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities). The Arbitration Service is tasked with resolving conflicts between persons with disabilities and federal public bodies.
You can consult the Arbitration Service if you are dissatisfied with the answers you receive from the above-mentioned contact channel. The aim is not to determine a winner or a loser. Rather, the objective is to jointly find a solution to a problem without judicial intervention, through conciliation via the Arbitration Service.
The conciliation procedure is free of charge. Nor does it require legal counsel.
The website of the Arbitration Service provides all information on the arbitration procedure. There you can read about how a such a procedure is conducted and how to submit a request for arbitration. You can also submit the request in plain language or in German Sign Language.
