The Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV – Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr) is continuing to support the procurement of electric vehicles and the corresponding infrastructure within the scope of the electric mobility funding guideline.

Daniela Kluckert, Commissioner for Charging Station Infrastructure and Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Digital and Transport: “When it comes to tackling the issue of climate protection, it is our cities, municipalities and districts that play a key role. The fact that electric mobility works exceptionally well in practice is shown by the increasing conversion of municipal fleets to electric vehicles. We must continue to create the right incentives. That is why we support the switch to electric vehicles with up to 500,000 euros per application.”

Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff, Managing Director (Chair) of NOW GmbH: “Even with increasing registration numbers, climate-friendly mobility across the board continues to require an holistic approach to funding, from application-oriented R&D projects, e-mobility concepts and support for fleet electrification.”

Funding is available for:

  • Vehicle classes M1 (passenger cars, including those for passenger transport with max. 8 seats excl. driver’s seat), L2e, L5e, L6e and L7e (light vehicles)
  • The charging infrastructure required for operation

Eligible for funding are projects with a budget of 25,000 euros and up to 500,000 euros (gross) per applicant municipality. The funding rate is up to 90 percent of the additional investment costs. Applications can be submitted via the easy-Online funding portal until 28 July 2022.
