www.ptl-roadmap.de provides information on PtL fuels and answers key questions on production and political support.

What is the German government’s roadmap for the development and expansion of PtL aviation fuel production in Germany? Information about this is now available on the (German language) www.ptl-roadmap.de website. The PtL roadmap was developed in close cooperation between politics, science and industry and was signed in May 2021. It contains measures and a timetable for advancing the production of sustainable PtL aviation fuel in Germany over the next few years.

The new website brings together the topics and goals of the PtL Roadmap and offers concise information on all aspects of PtL. Alongside definitions of terms and explanations on the topic of electricity-based PtL fuels, projects for the promotion of PtL aviation fuel as well as funding programmes are presented. The FAQs provide easy-to-understand answers to key questions.

At today’s first face-to-face meeting of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Working Group (“Arbeitsgruppe Sustainable Aviation Fuels”, AG SAF), the Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital  and Transport, Oliver Luksic, introduced the website: “We want to make Germany the pioneer of CO2-neutral flying. For this, we need aviation fuel from renewable energies. The market ramp-up of sustainable aviation fuels can only succeed with the help of joint efforts by politics, business, science and the general public.”

The new website offers a central point of contact for neutral and cross-technology information on the PtL Roadmap as well as on ongoing projects and implementation steps. Besides offering the roadmap itself for download, the website also contains an overview map showing all projects for the production of PtL aviation fuel in Germany, an outline of national funding programmes within the framework of the German government’s overall concept for renewable fuels, as well as interesting facts and links to further information on PtL fuels.

The website was implemented and overseen by NOW as part of the overall Renewable Fuels Concept.
