Establishment of a strategic partnership in selected application areas of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies

Increasing attention is being paid to hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and the climate protection and market potential it offers, both on a national and international level. In this context, DIHK Service GmbH, a project company of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (Deutschen Industrie- und Handelskammertrag – DIHK) will in future work closely with the National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW) GmbH in the framework of the Environmental Technologies Export Initiative of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). For this purpose both partners have signed up to a cooperation agreement.

The goal of the cooperation is to contribute to improving international knowledge and technology transfer and in particular, to support German companies in recognising and exploiting market potential early. Through the exchange of expertise between DIHK Service GmbH and NOW GmbH, mutual support on specific projects as well as the establishment and expansion of international networks for sustainable hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, market knowledge and local networks of foreign chambers of commerce will be better utilized for the expansion of a hydrogen economy.

Launched in 2016, the „Exportinitiative Umwelttechnologien“ of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) aimed at spreading environmental technologies, thus making a concrete contribution to sustainable development and better living conditions in other countries. The export initiative will help to support sustainable livelihoods (SDG implementation) in target countries and combine them with business benefits.
