NOW GmbH has published an atlas for a comprehensive overview of all hydrogen networks in Germany. This overview is intended to support interested parties in their search for potential partners, both locally and nationally.

For the development and use of innovative technologies, regions in Germany need more than just one active participant. Whether in the transport or energy sector, in electricity or heating systems: The use of hydrogen is always based on a regional network of producers and consumers. Regions serve as a starting point for the formation of networks. In this way, they make faster progress and regional players multiply the knowledge they gain and the impact of their projects. With the Atlas of Hydrogen Networks in Germany, NOW GmbH provides support in the search for potential partners on both the local and national level. This publication provides an overview of regional and interregional research activities and all networks, clusters, associations and federations in Germany that deal with hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and applications.

Further support for municipalities and regions

Coordinated by NOW GmbH, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur) has been supporting the possibility for municipalities and regions to establish themselves as hydrogen regions with the HyLand – Hydrogen Regions in Germany project since 2018. The development of stakeholder landscapes, the creation of regional concepts and the implementation of these concepts are among the categories funded by the programme.
