With the Inauguration of two new charging points, the Evangelische Schulen am Firstwald are now playing an active role in the development of a modern charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Mössingen. Both the grammar school and the Jenaplan school will increasingly rely on e-mobility in the future.
The two schools have been using a shared, fully electric 9-seater bus for their everyday travel needs for several weeks already. The new charging points will now ensure flexible, cost-effective and easy charging. At the same time, they are also accessible to the public and, thanks to green electricity, offer another climate-friendly way to recharge electric vehicles in Mössingen.
The two charging stations in Hegwiesenstrasse each have two charging points with a capacity of 11 kW. Depending on the vehicle, a charge level of about 80 percent can be reached within two to four hours.
The “Sustainable Mobility at Protestant Schools – Electrification of the Vehicle Fleet” project (“Nachhaltige Mobilität an evangelischen Schulen – Elektrifizierung der Fahrzeugflotte”) is part of a comprehensive climate protection concept that the School Foundation of the Protestant Church in Württemberg (“Schulstiftung der Evangelischen Landeskirche in Württemberg”), as the responsible body, is developing and implementing together with its schools.
It is being funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) within the scope of the BMVI’s Electric Mobility Funding Guideline with a total of more than 100,000 euros. The funding guideline is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Project Management Jülich (PtJ).
The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport is also funding the construction and installation of the charging columns as part of the “B²MM – Betriebliches und Behördliches Mobilitätsmanagement” programme (“B²MM – Operational and Public Authority Mobility Management” programme).
The Stuttgart-based company eliso, which specialises in the installation and operation of electric charging infrastructure, is the partner for the operation of the charging points.
