The Böblingen District Office is purchasing eleven electric and electric-hybrid vehicles for its vehicle fleet and receives funding from the Federal Government.
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure with up to 175,782 euros within the framework of the “Elektromobilität vor Ort” funding guideline for local electric mobility. The subsidy covers 75% of the additional costs compared to a conventional vehicle with a combustion engine.
The notification of funding approval for the district of Böblingen was handed over to Bundestag member Marc Biadacz in Berlin by Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer. The procurement of the vehicles including charging infrastructure is to occur in the years 2019 and 2020. Nine vehicles are intended for the areas of gardening, road construction and waste management, with the other two to be deployed in the general vehicle fleet.
