From 22 November 2018, private investors, cities and municipalities can once again submit applications for funding to develop charging infrastructure for e-vehicles. In its third funding call within the funding guideline “Charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany”, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is subsidising the construction of up to 10,000 regular and 3,000 fast-charging points.

Investments related to hardware as well as grid connection costs are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted until 21 February 2019 through the easy-online portal: www.foerderportal.bund.de/easyonline.

Particular consideration will be given to the requirements of new fast and regular charging points on site in the new funding call. The location tool for alternative infrastructures will be used for the first time, which analyses the relevant spatial design, infrastructures, as well as structural, vehicle and mobility data for the next phase of expansion. The level of investment aid for the costs which are eligible for funding in a defined area is based on calculated demand. This ensures that the expansion of charging infrastructure proceeds nationwide, in a customer-oriented, future-oriented and at the same time needs-based manner.

NOW GmbH staff will be on the road throughout the country over the coming weeks in order to provide information on the funding guideline, the new funding call and the funding conditions. The list of dates can be found here:
