The Network for Sustainable Mobility (NaKoMo – Netzwerk für nachhaltige Mobilität) regularly invites participants to workshops where representatives from federal, state and local governments connect and network to discuss current mobility issues.
Recently, participants discussed the impact of the EU’s Clean Vehicles Directive (CVD): The new requirements will apply from 2 August 2021 and will oblige public authorities to ensure that a share of the vehicles they purchase in the future are either low or zero-emission.
But what exactly are the minimum targets and to whom do they apply? What impact does the CVD have on individual municipalities and municipal enterprises? What challenges do municipalities now face?
