Development of a heavy duty fuel cell system for commercial vehicles (Fuel Cell System Heavy Duty)
The joint project aims to develop a fuel cell system for commercial vehicle applications. An innovative and modular laboratory fuel cell system is to be analysed and the critical components with regard to commercial vehicle requirements will be identified and the system performance increased in accordance with the specific requirements. For this purpose, a more powerful stack will be integrated and the system and component design adapted to the requirements. The critical components are to be optimised or further developed in this project with regard to service life, efficiency, robustness and costs. Simultaneous operation of several fuel cell systems is also to be realised in order to map the necessary system performance. An optimisation of the operating strategy and the expansion of the software functions are to secure the operation of the heavy duty fuel cell system in the commercial vehicle application.
