On 7 October 2022, the 2nd HyLand networking meeting took place as an online event. Around 70 participants took part in the meeting. A presentation by the chartered accountancy firm PWC provided extensive information on legal framework conditions along the hydrogen value chain. In addition, in a second round of discussions as requested by the HyLand regions, project experiences within the individual HyLand stages could be exchanged and discussed.

Alexander Gehling reported on news from the HyLand network: the Federation of Regions (Bund der Regionen) that is to take a political stance, a round table for the HyExpert regions as well as the HyPerformer application phase, which will run until 31.01.23. Furthermore, the survey on the evaluation and expansion of the HyLand network, which was conducted among all HyLand regions in August 2022, was presented by Jan Simoneit (EE Energy Engineers). The vast majority of the regions see a great need for a continuous HyLand network that will extend beyond the funding period.

In three parallel workshops, the discussions within the HyLand stages from the first networking meeting were continued. Challenges were addressed, tips and advice given. The presentations by PWC dealt, among other things, with the delegated act on RED II, the licensing law for electrolysers, regulations for hydrogen networks and carbon contracts for differences. What was new this time was that, in addition to the regional coordinators, all stakeholders of the HyLand regions were invited to the PWC presentations on legal issues. The event was moderated by Lisanne Buchner (EE Energy Engineers), Anke Schmidt (Nuts One), Dr. Frank Koch (EE Energy Engineers) and Martin Hellwig (Spilett New Technologies).

The next expert workshop on the topic of mobility will take place at the beginning of December. More detailed information will be announced shortly.
