As of now NOW GmbH is supporting the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) in the further development of the National Competence Network for Mobility (NaKoMo). The network is comprised of the federal government, states and municipalities. In the context of the immediate action programme: ‘Clean air 2017-2020’, it was established to exchange information and share experiences in order to shape the establishment of emission-free mobility more efficiently in the municipalities and roll it out more rapidly.
Commissioned by the BMVI, we wish to quickly expand the network further to become a major exchange and working platform for municipalities. We wish to cover all issues related to the future of mobility and together with the federal government, the states and the municipalities, work out sustainable solutions for current challenges. With the aid of workshops, conferences, working groups and a comprehensive online platform for municipality representatives, we are extracting the practical opportunities of digitalization for better mobility and are bringing our expertise to the table, for example on the development of infrastructure for battery or fuel cell vehicles in the region or on converting vehicle fleets for local public transport or for municipal companies.
The partners in the NaKoMo network have the opportunity to learn from experiences already obtained by other municipalities or to benefit from the over 200 municipal transport concepts that NOW GmbH, tasked by the BMVI, has already supported. Furthermore we provide partners with the latest information from one source on specific BMVI support as well as the possibility to play a part in the strategic design of the mobility transition within the network comprised of the federal government, states and municipalities.
