The new NOW factsheet provides an overview of regulations and standards as well as the organisation of standardisation for hydrogen mobility in China.
Hydrogen (H2) and fuel cells (FCs) will initially be primarily used in the mobility sector. Accordingly, the Chinese are intensively engaged in establishing standards and regulations for this sector.
The country already has its own degree programmes for standardisation specialists – whereas in Germany companies must obtain this expertise themselves. The role of Chinese experts in international expert committees is growing. These are developments which are of particular strategic importance to Germany, as China is the largest sales market for German car manufacturers, and this market access must be ensured through uniform standardisation.
