In which federal states are the most electric vehicles on the road? In which vehicle classes are alternative drives and fuels frequently used? Which sectors are particularly climate-friendly on the road? A new analysis tool from NOW GmbH provides data that can be used to track the transition towards climate neutrality that is taking place in the mobility sector.

Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff, CEO of NOW GmbH: “With the Data Finder, we are providing politicians, journalists, experts and all interested parties with a tool for facts-based, cross-technology discussion of the development of the drive system and fuel transition that is taking place in Germany”. Use of the Data Finder is free of charge, and access to the data material is open to all interested parties at www.now-gmbh.de/datenfinder. The data finder can be found in the German language version of the website under the “Wissen & Medien” (Knowledge & Media) navigation tab.

Long-term analysis of vehicle data in Germany

Based on the vehicle stock figures and new registrations of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (Kraftfahrtbundesamt), NOW GmbH has published various long-term analyses according to sectors, federal states and vehicle classes. In addition, the user can select the type of drive in the analyses and relate different types of drive to each other. In order to make the figures more comparable, the percentage shares of the drive type in the stock or new registrations are shown. The data is continuously updated, and historical and current comparisons are also possible.

Continuous expansion of data analyses

The Data Finder is constantly being expanded so that soon, data from other sectors can also be analysed. The areas of application are also being expanded. In the next step, vehicle market data will be included in the calculations, showing the development of battery capacities and the average battery size of electric cars.
