From Putbus on the island of Rügen to Lake Constance, or from Oberhausen to Riesa: this year, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure’s (BMVI – Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur) Electric Mobility Roadshow (Roadshow Elektromobilität) stopped by at 19 cities and municipalities with its information stand for all those interested in CO2-free mobility. Since 2014, the Electric Mobility Roadshow has provided information about the opportunities and suitability of electric mobility for everyday use throughout Germany, and has visited around 90 municipalities since that time.
The BMVI supports the expansion of electric mobility in municipalities throughout Germany. The corresponding funding programmes are coordinated by NOW GmbH, which also organises the electric mobility roadshow.
Electric, clean and quiet: visitors to the BMVI’s Electric Mobility Roadshow can learn how electric mobility can contribute towards climate protection, air pollution control, noise protection and new transport concepts – irrespective of whether using batteries or hydrogen and fuel cells. For private individuals, tradespeople and representatives of local municipalities, information is available on funding opportunities for vehicles and charging infrastructure. In addition, NOW and local initiatives offered test drives at numerous venues to enable guests to experience the dynamic, clean driving experience.
At many of the local venues, representatives from NOW GmbH presented the “Electric Mobility Starter Set” (Starterset Elektromobilität) information package to municipal representatives. It contains practical recommendations for municipalities on the development and further expansion of electric mobility, while also expressing appreciation for committed municipalities.
Anne Laudien, Communications Manager at NOW GmbH, which organises the events, is delighted with this year’s successful tour of Germany: “We are experiencing mounting interest in issues relating to electric mobility. This may involve very practical aspects such as queries regarding the type of charger plug, or critical in-depth questions on the overall eco-balance. Our information stand provides answers to all such questions and on electric mobility transition in general. Throughout Germany, you will find shifts in thinking taking place, first projects being undertaken or well-founded experience that has already been gained. Germany is today already electrically mobile and is steadily becoming increasingly so.”
