In the RoWaBaSch project, ZILA, INM – Leibniz Institute for New Materials and Mehrer Compression are working on robust hydrogen pressure sensors with novel barrier layers. These novel barrier layers shall significantly increase the robustness and durability of hydrogen pressure sensors. In addition, intelligent, functionally safe, ATEX- and EMC-compliant electronics are to be implemented in order to independently diagnose and signal signal drift or sensor errors. The sensors are to be validated under practical conditions. The overall goal is to realize a reliable and robust pressure measurement for the H2 technology.
