Development of a MW-class fuel cell system based on an SOFC for operation with diesel fuel or LNG
The basic principles for a diesel-powered fuel cell system based on an SOFC were developed in the SchIBZ project. Here, the reforming of diesel into a fuel gas for SOFCs and the coupling with an energy storage system for the operation of networks in the low MW range are of particular importance. In this project, two scalable system variants are to be developed on this basis, which meet the requirements for operation on ships. As far as possible, the requirements of inland waterway vessels will also be taken into account.
