The successful funding to support the development of publicly accessible charging infrastructure is being continued. In the newly launched funding programme “Publicly accessible charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany” (“Öffentlich zugängliche Ladeinfrastruktur für Elektrofahrzeuge in Deutschland”), the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVI) will provide a total of another 500 million euros from summer 2021 until the end of 2025.

Our online seminar will inform you about the first call for funding of the newly launched “Publicly accessible charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Germany” funding guideline, published 17.08.2021.

Starting 31.08.2021, companies, cities and municipalities, public institutions and private individuals can apply for funding. In the first funding call, the following will be eligible for funding:

  • Around 9,000 publicly accessible charging points with a maximum charging capacity of up to 22 kilowatts (standard charging points)
  • Around 9,000 publicly accessible charging points with a maximum charging capacity of more than 22 kilowatts, at which only direct current (DC) charging is possible (DC fast charging points).
  • The grid connection belonging to a funded charging point or the combination of grid connection and buffer storage

Detailed information on the current application and approval procedures as well as the necessary documents can be found in German on the homepage of the Federal Office for Administrative Services (BAV – Verwaltungsdienstleistungen).

During our online seminar, Conrad Hammer, Acting Head of the Funding Team at the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure, will talk about the funding framework and conditions together with the BAV. Afterwards, there will be time for your questions.
