Giving electric vehicles a privileged status, expanding recharging infrastructure, converting fleets, developing electric mobility concepts and putting them into practice – these are the goals the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI – Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur) is pursuing to promote electromobility throughout Germany.
The “On-site Electromobility” conference is the key event for specialists on the user side in municipalities, transport companies and fleet operators, who shape the conditions for electromobility within their domain.
What effect does the federal electromobility legislation have on a municipal level? What developments will the BMVI 2015 Funding Guidelines instigate on-site for the focus areas of fleet development and the promotion of municipal electromobility concepts? How can a needs-based further development of infrastructure for electromobility with battery and fuel cell be achieved? What possibilities does the technology offer private users, local public transport and urban delivery service providers?
We report on projects in practice being conducted within the scope of the BMVI Electromobility Model Regions, the Electromobility Showcases and the National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology. We will provide concrete recommendations for action to the raised issues, arising from the scientific research that closely accompanies the funding programmes.
The BMVI promotes electromobility with battery and fuel cells through demonstration measures in the Electromobility Model Regions, within the scope of the Federal Government’s Showcase Programme, and through the National Innovation Programme Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP) as well as through targeted user incentives and the expansion of a basic infrastructure.
