In the development of hydrogen applications, the issue of safety has the highest priority. For this reason, the assessment of safety and risks of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies will be the subject at the centre of the International Conference on Hydrogen Safety (ICHS 2017), which takes place in Hamburg 11-13 September 2017.

Specialists in the hydrogen sector from across the globe will converge on Hamburg in September to discuss topics and issues relating to the safety of hydrogen applications along with hydrogen infrastructure, material safety, risk management as well as associated legal regulations and standardisation processes. Following its start in 2005, the conference has been hosted in various locations in Europe, the USA and Japan. This year it comes to Hamburg. In view of the current process of commercialisation of fuel cell vehicles and the increasing deployment of fuel cell applications throughout the world, this year’s conference will also focus on market activation and the safe expansion of the technology.
