With a launch event, the starting signal for the e4ports network will be given on 9 September, 2021. The network has set itself the goal of supporting ports in designing a climate-neutral energy system.
Converting the port energy system to renewable energy is a complex challenge for the multitude of stakeholders involved in ports and their surrounding areas. What technology options are available for climate-neutral cargo handling? How can onward transportation be made emissions-free? And how can ports prepare for the import of alternative fuels? The e4ports network aims to bring stakeholders together and work collaboratively to find answers to these questions – so that we can achieve the goal of a climate-neutral port sooner.
The aim of the kick-off event is to provide an initial overview of initiatives in German ports and to enable stakeholders to become acquainted with each other. One thematic focus of the kick-off event will be hydrogen applications in ports and related locations. Experiences regarding the development of hydrogen infrastructure will be reported on, encompassing aspects such as the procedures involved including that of accreditation and approval.
An excursion to Berlin’s Westhafen is planned as a special highlight.
The event is aimed at all stakeholders interested in participating in the e4ports network – in particular port organisations, terminal operators, logistics companies, shipping companies, energy producers and suppliers, grid operators and authorities. Participation to the event, which is being organized by NOW GmbH, is free of charge.
Registration is closed.
