There will soon be 15 new charging stations for electric cars in Haltern am See. The municipal utilities company Stadtwerke Haltern am See will erect the columns by the end of July 2019.

Private partners are also involved in setting up the charging structure in Haltern am See, including, Ketteler Hof, Hotel Seehof, Autohaus Mitteldorf, Rally Club Haltern and Könzgen-Haus. The municipal utilities company is also establishing charging facilities in the districts of Sythen (primary school), Hullern (church) and in Flaesheim.

All charging points are equipped with two connections that can be used around the clock to recharge using sustainably generated green electricity with a maximum output of 22 kilowatts. This is also a condition laid out by the federal government, which promotes the installation of charging points. In total, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure is providing 72,018 euros for the construction of 45 normal charging points at 23 locations via the Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles funding programme.
