Hydrogen and its potential: After more than a year of preparatory work and intensive consultation with all stakeholders, Saarland has channelled its knowledge of this into a roadmap for the coming years. The practical implementation of this strategy will be discussed at the „Saarland 2030: On the Way to Hydrogenland“ event.
The focus is on the goal of taking a decisive step towards achieving CO2 reduction with green hydrogen. In this process, Saarland relies on expertise, research and good networking of all stakeholders – so that a sustainable and social transformation process will succeed that will have an impact at all levels. The approaches for this are diverse. Starting with the use of green hydrogen, for example in heavy industry, local public transport and logistics, to stationary combined heat and power systems: they have already been confirmed as important fields of application. And as a state in the heart of Europe, Saarland, together with France, intends to establish a functioning pipeline network that can become the centre of a Europe-wide hydrogen network.
The event is being organised by the Saarland Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Transport (Saarland Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit, Energie und Verkehr).
