Part of the NaKoMo workshop series “Mobility and Climate Protection”
Climate protection is one of the greatest challenges of our times. Germany has committed itself to ambitious goals with the National Climate Protection Act (Klimaschutzgesetz) and the Paris Climate Protection Agreement. To achieve these, greenhouse gas emissions in transport must also be significantly reduced. Municipalities are key players in this transformation to climate-friendly mobility. By actively shaping mobility at the local level, they can make a significant contribution to climate protection, clean air and consequently also to improving the quality of life.
In the new NaKoMo workshop series entitled “Mobility and Climate Protection”, we intend to discuss with how climate-friendly mobility can be shaped at the local level. In the inaugural workshop, various aspects will be examined: the federal government’s activities in climate protection in transport, the perspective of the scientific community as well as impulses from the municipalities. In the second part of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the discussion.
