Following Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Leipzig, the ride-sharing service CleverShuttle is also now available in Stuttgart.

CleverShuttle provides rail travellers with comfortable and environmentally-friendly travel connections. A fleet consisting initially of ten hydrogen-operated Toyota Mirais is available for this purpose in Stuttgart, producing no climate- or environmentally-damaging emissions locally. Passengers order the vehicle via an app, which bundles individual route requests and calculates the optimal route combinations for different passenger destinations. The fixed rate also applies when no carpooling occurs.

The ten vehicles are part of the ZeroE project through which the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure funds the procurement of a total of 185 fuel cell passenger vehicles in the amount of 3.2 million euros from the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP).
