The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) will fund the installation of charging infrastructure at staff parking spaces, for electric vehicles of commercial or municipal fleets as well as for service vehicles.
The new funding guideline: “Non-public charging stations for electric vehicles – companies and municipalities” was published today. The BMVI is thus adding an important component to its electric mobility funding.
Andreas Scheuer, Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, said: “We want to make the switch to climate-friendly fleets easier for companies and municipalities. That’s why we are ensuring there are convenient charging options at the workplace. Easy charging, anytime, anywhere: once again, we have taken a major step towards this objective.”
Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff, Managing Director of NOW GmbH: “Germany’s goal is to be climate-neutral by 2045. Therefore we need electrification of all kinds in the transport area. Companies and municipalities play a key role here: by providing infrastructure, they can contribute significantly to an accelerated market ramp-up of electric mobility and thus to a reduction in harmful emissions.”
Johannes Pallasch, Spokesperson of the Management Team of the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure: “An estimated 60-85 per cent of all charging events happen at home or at work. That is why charging infrastructure should be built everywhere where cars park over a longer period in any event. In addition, around two thirds of all new car registrations are service/company vehicles. By funding charging infrastructure at the parking spaces of companies and municipalities, we are strengthening two important application scenarios that are also in high demand.”
Applications can be submitted through the funding portal of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) from 23 November 2021.
Funding is available for the purchase and installation of a new, non-public, stationary charging station including grid connection. The charging infrastructure must be at parking spaces on premises envisaged for commercial or municipal use or for staff vehicles.
The subsidy amounts to 900 euros per charging point, but a maximum of 70 percent of the eligible expenses in total. Charging points with a charging capacity of up to 22 kilowatts can be funded.
Manufacturers of charging equipment can have the funding eligibility of their products checked. As long as all technical requirements are fulfilled, the products will be included in the eligible list of charging equipment. Please use this link for this purpose.
State subsidies to economically active entities, i.e. companies, are granted as de minimus aid within the framework of the funding guideline.
