Hy-Lab – Take part in our online seminar and gain an insight into the development and setup of laboratories for hydrogen quality measurement according to international standards.
Hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicles enable zero-emission electric mobility with long ranges and short refuelling times. However, hydrogen can contain impurities that damage the fuel cells. In order to be able to guarantee the required service life of fuel cells, the hydrogen delivery quality at filling stations must therefore be checked regularly. The permissible limits for impurities are defined in the international standard ISO 14687-2.
As a part of the Hy-Lab project, the analytical laboratories of the Centre for Fuel Cell Technology GmbH (ZBT – Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik GmbH) and the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW – Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung Baden-Württemberg) have been expanded and upgraded, and are now available as independent sampling points and laboratories for quality monitoring at filling stations throughout Germany and Europe.
