61 percent of the rail network in Germany is electrified with overhead lines. The remaining lines, however, are currently almost exclusively served by conventional rail vehicles powered by diesel engines.

In order to reduce emissions in rail transport, innovative drive systems with reduced CO2 emissions are to be used in addition to the expansion of the overhead line system. To this end, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI – Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur) has prepared a guideline under which these low-CO2 rail vehicles can be eligible for funding. The first call for funding has now been published.

In our online seminar, you will learn all about the current funding call, the submission procedure and how alternative drive technologies can contribute towards a carbon-neutral, low-emission rail transport system.

Among the experts joining us will be:

  • Oliver Hoch, NOW
  • Elena Hof, NOW
  • Stefan Höring, PtJ
  • Arno Knieschewski, PtJ
