Extended basic information for site providers in detail
Site providers can now specify additional information about their listed sites. A new feature is the suitability for charging trucks. For example, information on heavy-duty capacity can be entered, whether a usage permit for trucks is available, and details on proximity to motorway junctions can be provided.
Also new is the expanded information on surface sealing, i.e. whether a surface is fully sealed, partially sealed, technically unsealed but compacted. Land owners, e.g. depot operators, can now also indicate whether there is already a specific charging infrastructure project for a given area. They can enter initial plans for the construction of car or truck charging infrastructure in a custom text field. This allows CPOs to see that an area is not only available, but is already linked to a specific project.
New search and filter functions
Another new feature is the radius search. Those seeking sites, such as operating companies, can now search specifically for suitable locations within a self-defined radius. With the new truck filter, those looking for plots can search for sites that are suitable for commercial vehicles. Another new feature is that investors can specify in their profiles whether they are building charging infrastructure for cars and/or trucks and whether they are active in the public and/or non-public sector. Investor profiles can be filtered accordingly.
The new functions, search and filter options ensure that suitable locations can now be identified even faster and matched more accurately. These improvements increase the visibility of suitable sites and facilitate the targeted networking of operating companies and site owners – especially in the area of truck charging. Currently, 150 investor profiles are stored in FlächenTOOL, and over 2,700 sites are currently registered. FlächenTOOL has already successfully brokered over 300 sites on which new charging infrastructure has been built.
Johannes Pallasch, Head and Spokesperson of the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure under the umbrella of NOW GmbH: “The ramp-up of charging infrastructure for heavy commercial vehicles is one of the key tasks for the coming years. With the new functions, we are strengthening FlächenTOOL as an important tool for all players in the market. We would particularly like to encourage freight forwarders and logistics companies to register their sites so that CPOs focusing on trucks can find them! Only if we identify suitable locations at an early stage and bring the right partners together will we succeed in rapidly expanding an efficient charging infrastructure that meets demand, including for heavy-duty transport.”
About FlächenTOOL
FlächenTOOL is the digital matching platform of the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure under the umbrella of NOW GmbH. Sites available for the development of charging infrastructure can be entered into the tool and found by investors. Investors can then contact the site providers directly via the platform. The aim is to give all market players non-discriminatory access to available sites. Companies wishing to set up charging infrastructure can create their own profile and thereby benefit from a constantly growing selection of suitable sites.
