Content and data basis
The dashboard shows for example, how the amount of publicly accessible charging infrastructure has developed over the years, how much expansion has occurred over the past few months, how fast-charging points are divided into power categories and how charging stations are distributed across individual federal states.
The data is based on the charging stations register (list of charging stations) of the Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency) and is checked and adapted by the Centre. The dashboard will be supplemented by further evaluations, e.g. for the expansion of the Deutschlandnetz. The new dashboard will ensure that the data is updated more regularly and additional filter and analysis options will be integrated as well.
Johannes Pallasch, Head and Spokesperson of the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure under the umbrella of NOW GmbH: “Anyone who is looking for detailed data and analyses on publicly accessible charging infrastructure in Germany will find a comprehensive and continuously up-to-date information source in our new Pkw-LadeinfrastrukturMONITORING. Along with other data dashboards from the Centre, we are making a comprehensive and continually growing collection of data on various aspects of charging infrastructure available to the public. We are convinced that a nationwide, demand-driven charging infrastructure can only be established on the basis of reliable data.”
The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure has already published additional dashboards: Lkw-LadeinfrastrukturMONITORING (monitoring truck charging infrastructure) provides an overview of the status of publicly accessible truck charging locations, AusbauMONITORING (monitoring expansion) analyzes regional demand coverage of publicly accessible charging infrastructure and the FörderMONITORING (monitoring funding) offers detailed insights into subsidised charging infrastructure in Germany.
