The location allows travellers and residents to combine charging with everyday errands. Various shops are located in the immediate vicinity. The nearby Fürth-Ronhof motorway exit ensures good accessibility for long-distance traffic. Two of the charging points are also barrier-free.
Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder: “Our goal is clear: fast charging anytime, anywhere. That’s why we are working with companies to create a comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure with the Deutschlandnetz. Several new Deutschlandnetz charging parks are currently going into operation every week. We are delighted that one of the first large charging parks is now opening in Fürth. It brings us another step closer to emission-free mobility.”
Emission-free construction
The new charging park in Fürth was built completely emission-free, making it one of the first construction sites in Germany with zero emissions. The civil engineering work was carried out using electric excavators, while electric trucks transported the spoil. A mobile charging station and a photovoltaic-powered battery supplied the necessary energy on site.
“Participating in the Deutschlandnetz is an important step for us, and we are firmly committed to sustainability – from emission-free construction to operation with 100 percent green electricity,” says Ragnhild Janbu Fresvik, CEO of Eviny. “We are bringing our many years of experience from the Norwegian market to the table and are delighted to be part of the mobility transition in Germany.”
The Deutschlandnetz: comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure
With the Deutschlandnetz, the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV – Bundesverkehrsministerium) is working with charging station operators to create 9,000 additional fast-charging points for electric cars at more than 1,000 locations.
The BMV is investing a total of around €2.3 billion in the construction and operation of the sites. These are being built in rural areas, in cities and at unmanaged motorway service stations.
The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure, which is part of NOW GmbH, is coordinating the implementation of the Deutschlandnetz on behalf of the BMV and is responsible, in particular, for demand planning, checking technical requirements and monitoring data from the sites.
Eviny was one of only a few international companies to be awarded the contract for 140 locations in the 2023 tender. The charging park in Fürth is one of the first to be opened by Eviny as part of this programme.
