Germany aims to become leading market for green hydrogen
With the National Hydrogen Strategy, Germany is setting its sights on becoming the world’s leading market for green hydrogen. This was the objective expressed by Dr. Stefan Kaufmann, Green Hydrogen Innovation Officer for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in his keynote speech launching the 6th HYPOS Forum. On 3rd and 4th November 2020, HYPOS members and guests discussed the next steps in the application and scaling of green hydrogen technologies.

Organisers of the annual hydrogen symposium HYPOS e.V., along with more than 125 players from science and industry, are pursuing the objective of establishing a green hydrogen economy. Saxony’s State Minister for Economy and his counterpart Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann from Saxony-Anhalt, explained the opportunities for Central Germany and pledged support for the further creation of appropriate framework conditions. The step towards implementation requires not only the networking of the players in Central Germany, however. The international perspective plays a decisive role as well.

In addition to the overarching themes, experts also presented numerous innovations and advances from the HYPOS research projects. 150 guests gained insights into the entire value chain, from production, transport and storage to application.
