Development of manufacturing technologies for the series production of PEM fuel cell stacks for quantities > 100,000 annually
Against the backdrop of climate change and the need to reduce carbon emissions, the fuel cell is regarded as an important drive concept when it comes to vehicles. Today, however, the fuel cell is still rather costly due to the low production volumes prevailing. The aim of the ManTyS project is to develop suitable production technologies to enable the economic series production of fuel cells featuring cycle times in the range of seconds. Among other things, innovative technologies for the production of media distribution structures and for media sealing are being considered. Following the project, it is intended to further develop the technologies to series maturity.
