Climate impact on aviation: New NOW factsheet provides an overview
NOW GmbH is publishing a new factsheet containing basic knowledge on the climate impact of aviation. It explains CO2 and non-CO2 effects concisely and illustrates what options are available for designing climate-friendly aviation with today’s technology.

New management structure at NOW GmbH
On 15 May 2025, Thomas Eberhardt will join the management team at the federally owned NOW GmbH as second managing director and COO. He will serve alongside Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and spokesperson Dagmar Fehler, whose contract has been extended. Eberhardt succeeds Alina Hain, who departed the company on 24 April 2025.

Fast charging in Lower Saxony: eliso goes live as part of the Deutchlandnetz
In Georgsmarienhütte, around ten kilometers south of Osnabrück, four hyperchargers with eight fast charging points and a charging capacity of up to 400 kW each are now ready for use on Malberger Straße, shortly after entering the town. A special charging point is also provided for vans.

E.ON Deutschlandnetz location begins operation in Krumbach, Swabia
In Krumbach in Bavarian Swabia, E.ON has begun operating four fast-charging stations, each with two charging points, as part of the Deutschlandnetz. Eight e-vehicles can be charged simultaneously with up to 400 kilowatts. Modern e-cars will therefore be ready for the next stage of their journey within around 20 minutes.

Evaluation report on funding support for climate-friendly commercial vehicles
With the KsNI funding guideline, the BMDV supported companies in purchasing climate-friendly commercial vehicles and charging infrastructure from 2021 to 2024. An external report has now confirmed that the KsNI funding programme resulted in a statistically significant increase in the share of climate-friendly commercial vehicles in all vehicle classes N1 to N3.

National Hydrogen Council: Position papers on the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy
In mid-March 2025, the National Hydrogen Council (NWR – Nationaler Wasserstoffrat) published several position papers dealing with key aspects of the ramp-up of the hydrogen economy in Germany. These address safety-related, technological and economic issues in order to support the strategic development of the sector.

StandortTOOL combines car and truck charging infrastructure with hydrogen refuelling stations
The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure at NOW GmbH has added new data and functions to its StandortTOOL location tool. From now on, users can also display charging infrastructure that is specifically suitable for trucks, as well as hydrogen refuelling station infrastructure. These supplement the already extensive data on passenger car charging infrastructure in Germany. The StandortTOOL thereby combines detailed information on charging and refuelling for electric vehicles on a single platform.
