The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure at NOW GmbH has added new data and functions to its StandortTOOL location tool. From now on, users can also display charging infrastructure that is specifically suitable for trucks, as well as hydrogen refuelling station infrastructure. These supplement the already extensive data on passenger car charging infrastructure in Germany. The StandortTOOL thereby combines detailed information on charging and refuelling for electric vehicles on a single platform.
Truck charging infrastructure
There are currently 54 publicly accessible charging locations suitable for trucks throughout Germany. Specifically, this means that parking spaces of at least 12 metres are available. The StandortTOOL also indicates whether trucks with trailers can charge there. In these cases, the available parking space must be at least 18.75 metres long.
In addition, the planned network of approximately 350 truck fast-charging stations on German motorways is shown, and for the first time, the demand for truck charging infrastructure at motorway junctions and exits, and at rest areas is also included. How will demand for truck charging infrastructure develop between now and 2035? And how will the registration figures for light, medium and heavy electric commercial vehicles develop? The StandortTOOL provides answers to these questions.
Hydrogen (H2) refuelling station infrastructure
The publicly accessible hydrogen refuelling station infrastructure for passenger cars as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles has also been newly integrated into the StandortTOOL. The hydrogen refuelling stations that are in operation and under construction are displayed, along with those that have received funding support. Who provided the funding in each case? Which of the refuelling stations contribute to meeting the European targets and at what pressure (35 or 70 MPa) can vehicles be refuelled at the locations? All this information can now be found with just a few clicks in the StandortTOOL.
Dagmar Fehler, CEO and spokesperson for NOW GmbH: “With the StandortTOOL, the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure has created a highly useful tool that we are already using to support stakeholders such as federal states, local authorities and network operators with relevant figures, data and forecasts for the expansion of the charging infrastructure. We have now also integrated data on the truck charging network and the hydrogen filling station network across all technologies into the tool – for us, this is a further contribution to promoting the transformation towards climate-friendly transport.”
About StandortTOOL
The StandortTOOL is the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure’s planning tool for a Germany-wide charging infrastructure. It supports federal states, municipalities and network operators in planning the expansion at the local level and provides the general public with information on demand, the current situation and expansion activities. Users can now switch between the topics of car charging infrastructure, truck charging infrastructure and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in the StandortTOOL. They can use various filters to show or hide the information on a map or use the dashboard function, which provides a clear graphical display of the data.
