The site is conveniently located in the immediate vicinity of the A9 motorway and the B2 national road in the Bindlach industrial estate at Esbachgraben 10. The excellent transport links make the site ideal for charging stops for commuters and tourists alike. The location is equipped with seating, a drinks and snack vending machine, and self-cleaning toilet facilities.
Modern setup with designer roofs, a photovoltaic system and sanitary facilities
As at all E.ON Drive Infrastructure sites, electric car drivers in Bindlach can charge their vehicles using 100 percent renewable energy. To support sustainable operations, the three roof sections are equipped with photovoltaic systems with a total rated peak output of 27 kilowatts. The energy generated is used directly for on-site charging operations.

Wide parking bays for convenient charging
Charging sessions can be conveniently started and paid for using standard charging cards and charging apps, or via a credit card terminal at the charging point. The site in Upper Franconia is configured in the so-called L-setup of the Deutschlandnetz network and thereby offers a total of 12 charging bays. An extra-long charging bay (3 × 7 metres) is available for commercial vehicles – such as electric vans or electric cars with trailers. For added convenience, some charging bays are designed as drive-through solutions, so that no manoeuvring is necessary.
Deutschlandnetz: Nationwide fast-charging infrastructure
With the Deutschlandnetz, the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV), in collaboration with charging station operators, is creating 9,000 additional fast-charging points for electric cars at more than 1,000 locations. In total, the BMV is investing around 2.3 billion euros in the construction and operation of these sites. These are being established in rural regions, in towns and cities, and at unmanned motorway service areas.
The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure supports the implementation of the Deutschlandnetz on behalf of the BMV and under the umbrella of NOW GmbH, and is specifically responsible for demand planning, the assessment of technical requirements and data monitoring of the locations.
