The Supervisory Board of NOW GmbH has appointed a new Chairperson: On 28 August 2025, Jörg Stephan, Head of Division at the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV), was appointed Chair of the Supervisory Board. He officially took office at the first meeting on 15 October 2025. Jörg Stephan heads Division E 13 – Freight Transport, DAK, Funding Guidelines at the BMV. He takes over the Chair of the Supervisory Board from Heike Seefried.
The NOW management reports directly to the Supervisory Board, the highest governing body of the federally owned company. The Supervisory Board consists of a total of five members: two representatives of the BMV and one representative each from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). The BMV appoints one of its representatives as Chair of the Supervisory Board.
