Deutschlandnetz: Eviny opens location in Elmshorn

Eviny, a provider of fast charging infrastructure in Scandinavia, has opened a Deutschlandnetz charging park in Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein). Twelve modern fast charging points with up to 400 kW charging capacity are now available at a supermarket. Its proximity to the Elmshorn motorway exit makes the location attractive for locals, commuters as well as for transiting traffic.

At the opening, Joschka Knuth, State Secretary in the Ministry for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature (Schleswig-Holstein), emphasised: “This new Deutschlandnetz location in Elmshorn clearly shows that the mobility of the future has long since arrived in the present. Electric mobility is suitable for everyday use and is now a natural part of people’s everyday lives. For example, when shopping.”

Fast charging – easily accessible and open around the clock
The new charging park at Hans-Böckler-Straße 1 in Elmshorn is accessible at all times, offers generous parking spaces and enables charging times of just a few minutes, depending on the vehicle model. Payment is made via app or credit card.

Mayor of the city of Elemshorn, Erik Sachse, emphasises the significance for the city: “Elmshorn benefits enormously from this forward-looking infrastructure. The new charging park increases the attractiveness of our city – for citizens, commuters and businesses alike. Here, the mobility transition can be experienced in concrete terms. With this further step, we are getting closer to our 2035 climate neutrality master plan. It’s great that you can combine charging and shopping here.”

Eviny drives forward the Deutschlandnetz in the north
Pål Tveitevåg, CEO of Eviny Elektrifisering, explains the company’s strategy: “As part of the Deutschlandnetz, we are creating a comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure throughout Germany. The Elmshorn location shows how well politics and committed companies can work together to make mobility climate-friendly.”

The charging park in Elmshorn is part of the nationwide Deutschlandnetz project, for which the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) is investing €2.3 billion in a comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure throughout Germany. Eviny is building several charging parks in northern Germany as part of the Deutschlandnetz project. Further locations in Schleswig-Holstein will follow shortly: Harrislee and Kappeln are already in the planning stage.

Deutschlandnetz: Comprehensive fast-charging infrastructure

With the Deutschlandnetz, the Federal Ministry for Transport (BMV) is working with charging station operators to create 9,000 additional fast-charging points for electric cars at more than 1,000 locations. Eviny, a Norwegian energy and infrastructure company based in Bergen, was awarded the contract for a total of 142 so-called search areas as part of the 2023 tender. The BMV is investing a total of around €2.3 billion in the construction and operation of the locations. These are being built in rural areas, in cities and at unmanaged motorway service stations.

The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure supports the implementation of the Deutschlandnetz on behalf of the BMV and under the umbrella of NOW GmbH. It is responsible for demand planning, testing technical requirements and monitoring data at the locations.
