The goal of our work is to help shape a climate-neutral society. The climate targets set by the Federal Government serve as our guiding framework. As a federally owned company, we carry out mandates on behalf of Federal Ministries. These typically involve the implementation and coordination of funding programmes. Beyond this, as a team of more than 200 people, we also accompany strategic stakeholder processes, help shape international cooperation and work to strengthen societal acceptance of climate-neutral technologies for mobility and energy systems.

What we offer

Development
Being open to new things: That is important to us. With an annual budget of 2,000 euros, we actively promote further training. In addition, we offer attractive career and development opportunities as well as annual development meetings.

Flexibility
At NOW, we embrace mobile and flexible working. To ensure that personal interaction is not neglected, most teams work on site in the office on fixed days of the week.

Work-life balance
In addition to mobile working, we offer regulated working hours with a clear overtime policy. Furthermore, part-time work is possible by individual arrangement.

Effectiveness
We work at the interface of politics, industry and research. Together, we promote networking and knowledge exchange – we develop position papers, develop study concepts, evaluate data, bring together a wide range of stakeholders and actively shape the processes of the mobility and energy transition.

The transformation towards a climate-neutral society is a mammoth task. For us, this means: entering new territory, day after day. This makes our work extremely exciting. No one does what NOW does.

Vacation
A permanent position at NOW includes 30 days of paid leave and the opportunity to take time off in lieu of accrued overtime. Christmas and New Year’s Eve are additionally granted as paid leave days.

We have jointly defined for ourselves: The NOW values describe our motivation and guiding principles, they are the basis for our cooperation. We also have internal value ambassadors who are committed to the everyday implementation of values at NOW.

We also signed the Diversity Charter in February 2025. With this, we are reaffirming our commitment to a working world in which respect, equal opportunities and diversity are central.
