Federal Environment Ministry launches new funding call for the Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI)

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN) has launched the nineth funding round of the Export Initiative Environmental Protection (EXI). In doing so, the Ministry is supporting German green tech companies and institutions in the internationalisation of their sustainable innovations, products and services. NOW GmbH is the contact partner for the action area: ‘Green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies’.

Priority will be given to projects in key areas of public services, such as the circular economy and recycling, water and waste management, sustainable consumption as well as using green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in decentralised energy supply, for example as a substitute for diesel generators. The goal is to establish sustainable, ‘Made in Germany’ technologies globally and to boost international environmental protection. Companies, research institutions, associations and federations can submit their project outlines by 15/02/2026 to the relevant project management agency: Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH here.

The action area ‘Green hydrogen and fuel cell technologies’, which comprises stationary solutions for decentralised energy supply, in particular in developing and emerging countries, is managed by NOW GmbH  as the programme company. NOW GmbH is available to discuss funding or content structure of project ideas. Those interested can contact exportinitiative@now-gmbh.de.
