NIP: 3.2 million euro for fuel cell passenger vehicles

With a total of 3.2 million euro from the National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP), the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is funding the acquisition of 185 fuel cell passenger vehicles (Toyota Mirai) within the ZeroE project.

This will almost double the number of fuel cell passenger vehicles registered on German roads. The number of public hydrogen refuelling stations has also doubled over the past 12 months.

The first 20 of the 185 funded Mirais will be deployed in Hamburg with CleverShuttle, the first officially authorised and exclusively electrically-powered ride sharing transport service in Germany.
