Today, the BMVI (Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure) is launching the fifth call for funding for the procurement of electric commercial vehicles and the infrastructure necessary for operation within the scope of the Electric Mobility Funding Guideline. This call is specifically targeting businesses in the skilled trades, craft-like companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises that are aiming to convert their conventional vehicle fleets to battery electric vehicles in the near future and also make significant investments in local charging infrastructure on the basis of existing electric vehicles or other electric vehicles planned in the short to medium term.

Today’s call is the beginning of a series of further calls within the context of the new guideline for the support of light and heavy commercial vehicles with alternative and climate-friendly drive systems and the associated refuelling and charging infrastructure.

The call for funding launched today to support electric commercial vehicles for skilled trades enterprises and SMEs will be implemented on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Funding will be allocated in the order in which eligible, complete and timely applications are received – until the funds available have been exhausted in full. The call for funding ends on 14 September, 2020.
